🌿Agroecology Project Launched in Bau City!
We are proud to announce that the Vision of Community Development Association has officially kicked off our latest project: “Strengthening Agroecological Restoration and Biodiversity Conservation at Abosa Locality.”
Launched on September 7, 2025, at the Bethlehem-Hotel, this initiative marks a turning point for environmental resilience and community growth in our region. With the generous support of the East Africa Regional Agroecology Fund, we are bringing sustainable solutions directly to the heart of Bau City.
🌍 Why This Matters
Our land is facing unprecedented agro-ecological challenges. This project is our roadmap to recovery, focusing on:
Organic Soil Health: Replacing chemicals with locally prepared organic fertilizers.
Ecological Restoration: Protecting our unique local biodiversity.
Community Wisdom: Using a participatory approach to ensure the best practices are shared and scaled.
📈 Real Impact, Real People
The project is already moving beyond the city administration level, with active training sessions now underway in three rural kebeles. We are committed to inclusivity and measurable change:
550 Households will be directly supported.
36.36% of participants are women-headed households, focusing on economic independence and leadership.
🛠 Our Four Key Pillars
Climate-Smart Agriculture: Capacity building and inputs for agroecological restoration.
Women’s Empowerment: Targeted training and income-generation opportunities.
Modern Beekeeping: Promoting sustainable honey production.
Agroforestry: Boosting biodiversity and nutrition through fruit tree cultivation.
